My Digischool ("we", "us", "the app") is a school management application that helps schools record and analyse student academic performance, manage staff, and communicate with users. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information. When you sign in we process your name, email or username, and the school (tenant) your account belongs to, so we can authenticate you and show your school's data.
- Academic and school records. The app handles data entered by authorised school staff — including student names, admission numbers, classes, exam marks, grades, attendance, and teacher records. This data belongs to the school that operates the account.
- Photos and images. With your permission, the app uses your device camera or photo library to capture student passport photos and teacher signatures, which are uploaded to your school's records. Images are only accessed when you actively choose to add one.
- Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we register a device push token (via Expo's push service) so we can deliver alerts such as new results or messages.
- Device biometrics. If you enable fingerprint or Face ID login, authentication is performed entirely by your device's operating system. We never receive, store, or transmit your biometric data — it only unlocks the credentials already stored securely on your device.
- Technical data. We may process basic technical information such as app version and error/diagnostic logs to keep the service reliable and secure.
2. How We Use Information
- To authenticate you and provide access to your school's data.
- To record, analyse, and present academic performance (broadsheets, report cards, analytics).
- To send notifications you have opted into.
- To maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the service.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell personal data.
3. How Information Is Stored
Account credentials and session tokens are stored securely on your device using the operating system's encrypted secure storage. School and academic data is stored on our secured backend servers, with each school's data logically isolated from other schools. Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
4. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information. We only share data:
- With your school, which controls and owns its records within the app.
- With service providers that operate the app on our behalf (for example, push-notification delivery and SMS delivery), only to the extent needed to provide the service.
- Where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users.
5. Data Retention
School and academic records are retained for as long as the school maintains an active account, or as required to meet legal and record-keeping obligations. Credentials stored on your device are removed when you log out or uninstall the app.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Because most records are managed by your school, please direct such requests to your school administrator or contact us using the details below and we will assist.
7. Children's Privacy
The app is intended for use by school staff and administrators. Student records are entered and managed by authorised school personnel, not by students themselves.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
